Lada Merkuleva is a soprano whose vibrant temperament and expressive artistry have firmly established her career on the musical stage, placing her among the most compelling young vocalists of her generation.
Lada Merkuleva’s voice has graced the most prestigious concert halls in Russia, including the Bolshoi, Maly, and Rachmaninoff Halls of the Moscow Conservatoir, the Zaryadye Concert Hall, the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, Philharmonia-2, the St. Petersburg Philharmonia and others.
Her repertoire features some of the most challenging soprano roles, requiring not only flawless vocal technique but also nuanced dramatic sensibility. Among these are the Queen of the Night (Mozart's "The Magic Flute"), which she has performed to great acclaim on the stages of the Bolshoi Theatre and Moscow’s Helikon-Opera; Zerbinetta (R. Strauss’s "Ariadne auf Naxos"); Alice Ford (Salieri's "Falstaff, or Three Jests"); Violetta (Verdi's "La Traviata"); Leila (Bizet's "Les pêcheurs de perles").
Currently Lada Merkuleva is a soloist of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia — an artist whose virtuosic technique is matched by an inner freedom and the vibrant emotionality of modern stage performance.
In 2025, Lada Merkuleva was a participant of the "Bolshaya Opera" (Great Opera) television project on the Russia-Culture channel, where she won the recognition of both the public and professionals for the brilliance and sincerity of her performances.
Her artistic journey began with studying the piano at the South Ural State Institute of Arts, graduating in 2017. Choosing to pursue an operatic career, she continued her education at the Academic Music College at the Moscow Conservatoir and subsequently at the P.I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatoir in the class of the renowned Russian soprano, People’s Artist of Russia and professor Hibla Gerzmava.
While studying she was an active participant in the concert life of the Conservatoir and its opera studio.

The touring schedule of the singer is very active, and moreover she has given highly praised both in Russia and abroad. Her performance geography spans more than 20 Russian cities, including St. Petersbung Yekateringurg, Vladivostok, Sochi, Samara, Perm and others. Lada gave highly successfull recitals Egypt, Jordan and Morocco under the auspices of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Russkly Mir Foundation. She also has participated in the "Tchaikovsky — Music Without Visas" project, the gala concert of which was held at the Opera House of Algiers. She has toured extensively in China. She collaborates regularly with the Imperial Orchestra.
She is frequent participant in prominent music festivals, such as The International "SHKIN-OPERA" music festival (Kolomna); The Ildar Abdrazakov Interpretation music festival (Moscow); XIII Winter international arts festival, the Artistic Director is Yuri Bashmet (Sochi); The Diaghilev Festival, the Artistic Director is Teodor Currentzis (Perm). She also regularly takes part in creative projects of the Elena Obraztsova Foundation.
